Our core training philosophy is simple yet profound: to equip every member with the skills, knowledge, and discipline needed to safely navigate every scenario and make it back home the way they left. Field training program: Phase 1 – Observation

Our comprehensive Field Training Program (FTO System) begins with Observation. As a Deputy-In-Training (DIT), you will closely observe your Field Training Officer (FTO) during their procedures. This phase is crucial for familiarizing yourself with radio traffic protocols, effective report writing, and the daily rhythm of law enforcement operations within BCSO RP's realistic environment.

Field training program: Phase 2 – Assisted patrol

Moving into Assisted Patrol, you'll start applying what you've learned. The DIT will conduct stops and respond to calls, all under the vigilant supervision of your FTO. This hands-on phase allows your FTO to evaluate your decision-making abilities, tactical awareness, and adherence to BCSO RP's high standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), providing immediate feedback and guidance.

Field training program: Phase 3 – Evaluation and solo readiness

In the final Evaluation phase, the DIT takes the lead on calls, demonstrating their full capability and readiness for independent duty. A final review by your FTO and a supervising officer will determine if you meet all required standards. Approval in this phase is essential before achieving solo status. Failure to meet these rigorous standards may lead to extended training or, if necessary, removal from the program to maintain our operational excellence.
